A 3-story stationery store in Seongsu-dong, Seoul… or is it an art museum?

Point of view______________

This place is a stationery select shop called Point of View, located in Seongsu-dong and Yeouido ‘The Hyundai’.
It’s safe to call it a stationery select shop where products from various stationery brands gather (a holy grail for stationery nerds).
Point of View says it shines a light on every single tool that exists in the creative process.
Rather than focusing on flashy looks, it focuses on the process of expressing and building oneself, curating scenes and tools that awaken new senses through different perspectives.
When you think of stationery, it’s something everyone loved and collected as a kid (I used to love erasers).
But this place is different from the stationery stores of our childhood—it’s filled with items curated strictly for adult tastes.
Today, let me introduce you to Point of View in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.

Point of View occupies an entire building across three floors.
Each floor—1F Tool, 2F Scene, 3F Archive—has its own theme, presenting completely different sets of products.
Even though it’s all under the umbrella of stationery, each floor carries its own distinct vibe, making it super fun to explore.
3F. ARCHIVE

Archive—just as the name suggests, it’s packed with archival items.
Entering the space feels like stepping into an exhibition hall, distinctly separated from the rest.
Compared to other floors, this one feels much closer to an art gallery (because it’s pricey).

The moment you step in, you instantly realize why the 3rd floor is called ‘Archive.’
It feels like walking into a room owned by a wealthy, retired professor with a serious collecting habit (you’ll get what I mean once you enter).
There’s so much to look at that you won’t even know where to look first.
While 1F and 2F feel like spaces that sell products, 3F Archive genuinely feels like an exhibition (though everything is for sale).

Here, you’ll find high-quality, classic items.
I felt like it was designed more for die-hard enthusiasts than beginners.
From SHOKO YAMAZAKI glass pens, fountain pens made with unique materials and shapes, to countless ink types and stamps and tin cases… it really feels like looking at the peak of the stationery world (and I’m just a beginner).
Beyond that, there are refined, classic pieces like the FABER-CASTELL Graf von Perfect Pencil and KAKIMORI fountain pens.
The way these items were curated made it feel like a gallery, but at the same time, I thought this could just be someone’s everyday life.
You know how cool it is when someone is genuinely passionate about something?
I’ve had experiences where I fell deep into a hobby, so seeing this level of passion made me feel a sense of respect.
Just as I get super excited about my own passions, knowing other people love and consume this stuff to this degree made me feel vicariously thrilled.

2F. SCENE

Heading downstairs, you’ll find products that feel a bit lighter compared to the 3rd floor.
If 3F is for experts and hardcore fans, 2F feels more like the realm of casual hobbies.
With more items than 3F, it was super fun to browse, and it suited my personal taste best (I spent the most time on 2F).

2F had a huge selection covering a broad range of categories.
The layout was divided into several room-like spaces within one floor, yet they all naturally connected.
Each space felt like it was showcasing a specific ‘scene’
The wall archiving alone was fresh, beautiful, and super memorable.
Among the many themes curated on 2F, you can find German writing brand Faber-Castell products as well as Japanese paper notebook brand MD PAPER notebooks.
With their approachable themes and quality, I think they’d make fantastic gifts.

The most interesting part for me on 2F was the gift-wrapping section.
They had high-quality wrapping paper, ribbons, letter sets, sealing wax, and more.
There was wrapping paper from THE PATTERN BOOK, as well as POV’s own original brand line, POV ORIGINAL.
Looking at the wrapping paper, each design brought a specific person to mind with its unique, distinct vibe.
I don’t usually use masking tape much, but I ended up buying some CLASSIKY Japanese masking tape right away (starting to use it today).
I always love seeing people present things with true passion, so I try to approach everything with sincerity too.
When giving gifts, I usually spend a lot of time overthinking the gift itself, but never really thought much about the wrapping—until I saw this place.
It made me realize that the wrapping itself can actually be part of the gift.
I highly recommend visiting just for this space alone (dead serious about this).
1F. TOOL

There were so many people here! It also felt the most familiar and welcoming.
The items on display included lots of familiar tools I actually used back in my school days—pens and pencils from PENTEL and PILOT, fun fancy stationery from MILAN, and scissors from KOKUYO.
Compared to the upper floors, 1F carries more affordable items, focusing on high volume and practical items rather than niche categories.
Everything felt cute, approachable, and easy to use.
The stamp collection section on 1F was particularly memorable (1F definitely had the biggest crowd).
This is where most purchases happen, offering the most reasonably priced and accessible items (and you can test-write them yourself).

There are so many stationery lovers out there. For them, this place is an absolute must-visit.
But even for someone like me who isn’t necessarily a stationery enthusiast, I’d still highly recommend going.
It’s a space that satisfies everyone from complete beginners to serious nerds.
I felt like I discovered a whole new world here—one I didn’t know existed.
I got to experience all the tools of creation that Point of View talks about, and after all, these could be the very tools where your own creation begins.
It’s a space where everyone from young kids to adults can have a blast.
See you in the next episode. 👋
